Description:

« Thinking Outside the Box » is a work that transcends physical and conceptual boundaries, inviting the viewer to push the limits of perception and existence.
At the heart of this monumental piece, a towering visage emerges, defying material constraints by appearing to be sunken into a box, with the angles of the sculpture exerting a gripping pressure on its skin, creating suggestive folds.
Despite this apparent captivity, the gaze of the face remains directed upwards, towards a future liberated from imposed shackles.

On the other side of this work, the profile of the Tiki-Teva emerges, a contemporary representation of Marquesan cultural heritage. Much like the human face, the Tiki-Teva seems to emerge from this symbolic box, suggesting a break from established conventions. This duality evokes reflection on the importance of freeing oneself from social, cultural, and historical constraints, while enriching oneself with one’s origins and identity.

« Thinking Outside the Box » thus embodies a call to intellectual autonomy and self-discovery, suggesting that only a profound understanding of one’s roots allows for true liberation from the limits that hinder the path to emancipation.
